Survival Bunkers

Over the past two days in LH1 some of the students have been away for Whakatane exchange. While they were gone we investigated natural disasters, and what we can do to prepare and survive. For a bit of fun we created in groups our own survival bunkers for a range of natural (and some unnatural) events. Check some of them out below! We also had Mr. Ashman in the class, who is the school woodwork teacher. He took some students to make a model to show what could happen to a city if a tsunami hit.
Overall we learnt what we can do to prepare for any natural event, and had a bit of fun along the way.

  1. Kia Ora Bennett LH1 at Gisborne intermediate! My name is Kyra and I am a Year 8 student in Totara 2 at Grey Main School. I like your post about the Survival Bunkers because you have heaps of photos and videos of your awesome creations and learning.

Our school have recently participated in the "Shake Out" event at the start of the term. During the shake out, we pretended that there was an earthquake and then a tsunami was coming. The whole school would then walk up to a hill that would probably keep us safe from the tsunami. Do you have an evacuation point?

This is a great post and I can't see any mistakes, so keep up the amazing work!
